Tents and Two-year olds...

... don't mix them.  The evening started out as a hit. (I think it usually is when you mix kids and tents)  Indeed tents are kid magnets, the whole neighborhood was attending our camp out until we politely excused ourselves to dinner.... which is when Kate decided she needed to step on Madeline and Robb's plates, knocked over her soda and put ketchup in places we didn't know ketchup could get.  The kids seemed to roll with the interruptions, to say the least, I was done.  So after dinner we attempted smores inside to lesson the mess of dirt and sticky marshmellows on everyone.  Smores always help me feel better on a camping excursion.
Until your two year old needs to "do it herself" and marshmellow ends up in her hair and her neighbors hair.  But yet again we cleaned up and piled into our jammies for a fun filled rest under the stars.  (note: our backyard is on a slope)  We told stories and things were really looking good, then the wind started to blow, REALLY hard and the tent started to fold in around us and slowly we were moving down the hill, I must admit this was kind of exciting, yet it gave Kate her second wind and she decided that lying down was no longer fun and that she should run over the top of everyone then try-out all sleeping bags, excluding her own....(Because this was Dwane's idea I politely reminded him that I needed to get a few things done in the house and that I would join him later)...10 minutes later, all kids were inside, in bed and I think we will be waiting awhile for our next camp out.

Yet, I must say we did make a family memory and that is the most important RIGHT!

"Little Mischief"

While finishing up prayer and scripture little missy snuck away to play with toys.....yet to our surprise it was mascara and nail polish.  I was pretty impressed with her knowledge of where it belonged.  Not to mention when I took the picture, she said, "I Cute".

The nail polish almost made it on her nails!

RUNAWAY WIVES'S(Ukrops 10k Richmond VA)

As I was uploading the pictures for my post, I realized how much my husband spoils me and supports me in everything.  (Dwane: you are so wonderful, how did silly old me wind up with someone so great)  So my dear friend Jennifer and I ran a 10k, it was a first for both of us.  We met up in Richmond and enjoyed a weekend without kids in an awesome hotel, compliments of my husband.  We caught up on the the good, the bad and the in between. We fit in a little shopping and some good eats.  It was really fun.  The race was a blast, as you can see we jumped out of bed fairly early, threw on running clothes and away we went.  To me it is such a RUSH to race.  The music the crowds the finish (which include free samples of everything), it rocks and best of all I got to run with a friend.  I guess a half-marathon is next.
