Awards and Accomplishments: (for the Grandparents)

Madeline & Robb
WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU!

Madeline with her teacher Ms Ward.(I loved that she gave Madeline the strength to branch out and find new talents.
Madeline received the Teacher Appreciation Award for excelling in all areas(which is only given to one child in each third grade class), 1st place award for Word Masters, and a Math Award which we were so excited about, because she had to work so hard on math all year.

Robb

Robb with his teacher Mrs. Brewer (what an amazing lady) Robb received the Teacher Appreciation Award for excelling in all areas and an Award for being a member of the Ecology Club (is he a miniture Dwane or What!!)

Here is Robb performing in the 2nd grade"Famous Americans" play!  He played Abraham Lincoln and George Washington.  It was so cute when his whole class sang the song "I am proud to be and American" with hand motions, I have to admit it made me cry.

The Famous Dragon...Robb got his Dragon selected for the Art Show in Stafford.(I guess he might have got a little of my genes too?)

Swimmin' Girl

She is part fish...I probably should check her toes for webbing.  Alexa passed swim class with honors.  She loves the pool and I love that she is a little more independent.  The best part about watching Alexa do something that she really loves, is she flaps.  So her first class she flapped her hands for the entire 40 minutes.  It was so fun.  She told me once that when she flaps she just feels like laughing.

A Star is Born

Robb got the lead part in his class economics play! Robb made me laugh when he told me he WOULD NOT wear a pink shirt for his costume.  He did such a great job teaching the audience about supply and demand, consumers and producers, wants and needs.  It was a very creative idea to help the kids learn about the principles in economics.  What a kid!

Bye Kids

What shoes did Dwane wear to work?....Alexa and Kate love to yell out the door whenever there is an opportunity.  This morning they were LOUDLY, EXCLAIMING, their goodbye to the kids getting on the bus.

I haven't left planet earth...

...I am just minus the free-time right now.  And fortunately and unfortunately that is the slot blogging gets put in.  But all is well here I will blog something soon.

One GREAT Lady! (Happy Mother's Day)

It has been a month since my Mom came to Virginia to have surgery!  Each day has been one to treasure.  Not being able to be her busy self I have for the first time been able to give back a little for the life time service that she has given me.  I have enjoyed using some of her favorite lines, like, " You better relax I am not always going to be here to do your laundry!" or "When you go home I won't be here to fix you dinner."  Since my Mom has needed someone to bring meals and visit with her, (she is bunking in the basement), the kids have really jumped in, taking turns eating with her, watching movies, reading her books, playing games etc.. Alexa has become the official water girl.  There are times my Mother seems to feel like she needs to apologize for not being able to help when there is a uproar or a rushed evening, but indeed just having her here is bringing memories to last a life time.

My Dear Mother,
I couldn't have asked for someone sweeter,
I couldn't have prayed for one much kinder,
Your service is constant,
Your comments honest, always in hope for the best,
You taught me love,
You taught me joy,
I am so glad I can be your daughter.

Mom and her Sweet Heart
