Day- 2 Indiana, what a lovely state. Today we decided to mix a little entertainment with driving. So we put Waydnotte Caves on the agenda for exploring. Alexa was a little worried and was telling Kate it was going to be spooky so all morning long Kate walked around saying, "It tooky, It tooky". It was funny. Really the only Tooky part was when they turned out he lights. John our tour guide was great and let Robb and Madeline ask all the questions they could think of. They loved the Stalagmites and Stalagtites. But the favorite formations were the "Big Pickle" and the rocks that sparkled like gems. On the way out of the cave we saw a baby fawn and held a butterfly, what luck. After caving and an al fresco lunch it was off to St. Louis. The Arch was amazing. The kids squealed and Robb shot pictures of it out the car window. Not to long after the Arch Kate needed to get OUT of the car. So we stopped at a little town called Rochport (so charming, Dwane and I were thinking a summer home would be wonderful here) The kids ran the streets of the quaint town and met a little boy who showed us his pet turtle and told us about the Missouri river flooding. We also had to pet a friendly cat and a puppy that was being walking by two pre-teeners who had the most marvelous accents.

Cross country driving is so fun. It is amazing to see the terrain change from lush green to the dry summer. The kids look like they are enjoying the fun.
