A New Highway

Day 3 - This was the sure test of the traveling fam.  We were headed to the new highway 64 Kansas City Missouri to 80 straight through Nebraska and on to Cheyenne, Wyoming.  11 hours in the car.  What exciting terrain.  We went from lush, wet corn fields for as far as you could see, to empty space as far as you could see.  The kids loved the giant hay stacks and counted to dead badgers along the road.  When we hit Wyoming we got caught in the most intense rain/hail storm, most cars had to pull over and wait it out.  The kids cracked us up as they were bursting with excitement at every flash of lighting.  When we finally cleared the storm Wyoming brought beautiful fields that Madeline said looked like they were stripped Vanilla and Milk Chocolate.  It was fun.  Only disaster for the day was a very wet diaper that soaked a Kate's seat.

The animals that were spotted were: two dead badgers, horses and cows
License plates: Oklahoma, Nebraska, Minnesota, Wyoming, Nevada, Texas, and North Dakota

Plugged in and ready to go!
Kansas
Nebraska
This is the view out our window!  The street was flooding!

  1. Nebraska!!! Glad it's you and not me! We feel your pain. Nebraska is very boring, Steve knows cause he grew up there. Wyoming isn't much better. So sorry! Steve's sister lives in Cheyenne and we don't know WHY!
By the way, we loved seeing "the applications" and Madie's comment about the Alps! LOL!!! So sorry Kate was sick. Hope all are well now.
