Here are a few pictures that captured our happy endings!

Softball...Madeline had a great time playing ball for the second year... her favorite position was catcher, Dwane and I both got a kick out of her flicking her ponytails under her heavy blue mask.

I survived Girls Camp and I have to admit it really turned out great. Lots of fun nights staying up laughing and being silly.

SCHOOL IS OUT... NOTHING BRINGS ME GREATER JOY! (truly I promise I am not being sarcastic) Our neighborhood gets together and we head for the ice cream shop. It is always so fun.

Girls Scouts...we achieved our bronze award by doing a jump-a-thon for a girl a the elementary school who has failing kidneys. We raised 2600 $ Troop 3187 YOU ROCK!!!

Piano... we are just on a short hiatus for the summer. But not really I can't keep Madeline away.

Madeline found this little treasure in her grandmother's closet and it was love at first sight. She seeks out every moment possible to wear it.  Let me say no more, just enjoy the moment with her.

Tormados...aka tornados

I was finishing up in the bathroom, and Kate peeks around the corner in an exasperated voice and says,

K - Mom do you know what will happen if a tormado comes?

M - What?

K - It will blow away all our toys and your make-up (long pause)

      You will have nothing to rub on your cheeks

M - That's terrible, what will we do without toys and make-up?

K - Don't worry Santa Clause will bring us some.

Life is definitely not dull at our house.

One Step Forward, Two Steps Back.....

Happy Easter!

One Step Forward...

This year we spent Easter here at home.  We were sad to miss the annual egg hunt at Grandma Young's, but Madeline had signed up to sing in an Easter Choir and for some reason Dwane and I couldn't figure out ahead of time that an Easter Choir meant that they would perform on Easter.  (the age is starting to show)  

Hence, we had a really nice time.  The Easter bunny left a trial of jelly beans to some fun gifts, Madeline sang beautifully at church and then after, Dwane hid eggs and the kids had a blast finding them.  I'm not so good at cooking large hunks of meat, so I was delighted when the kids requested Lasagna and Carrot Cake(because thats what the easter bunny would like, not the Lasagna of course)  for our Easter feast.  

Sticking around also meant that our friends who were headed back south were able to stop by, play and hang out.  It is always fun to see friends.   We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter too.

Simple Romance

When we awoke at 6:45 on Saturday we knew we were in for the long haul.  Dwane was taking Robb to help clean the church, then flag football at 8:30, (Dwane's the coach). Practice and game run until about 11:30.  While they were off I was up getting ready for a stake relief society meeting, pulling together my creative thoughts to keep the three girls occupied for a couple of hours.  We were on the move with hair, food, you know, arriving at carpool by 8:30.  Time quickly passed and at 1:00 the troops were back together,  we ate some lunch in shifts and having a headache I laid down for about 30 minutes, until I needed to get ready for a skin care class, Madeline I were attending.  We arrived only 10 minutes late and had a wonderful time. Dwane was home, having the kids help him clean and wash the cars.  When Madeline I arrived they had just started on the van, which if you drive any type of family vehicle you know, it gets totally gross. So we scrubbed and vacuumed.... then Dwane makes us vow never to eat in the car again, I laugh, (Whatever) and by the time we're finished, Dwane and I are the only ones in the car finishing, the kids are chasing each other around on the lawn in their bathing suits, squirting each other with the hose.  The music is blarring from the car radio, and life really couldn't be better. At 6:00....  while Dwane watched the kids outside I ran in to make something out of our meager grocery selection, (Condiments and donuts left over from the building clean up), you can have donuts for dinner right? 

7:00....everyone ate, then baths, dishes, finish laundry, and bedtime. 9:00 Dwane starts a batch of cookies and goes for a run.  I fold some laundry and try to pull the house together for Sunday.  

9:30 the cookies are done and I ask Dwane what he's up to next, I was ready to hit the hay, and he said,  "I am going outside, it is such a beautiful night".  Then he said, "Do you want to join me?"

He spread out the blanket from the back of the van and turned the radio quiet, we sat on our tiny front lawn, I dunked cookies in milk and we chatted, about everything.  I looked at him and he at me and for a minute, time really stood still.  It was a perfect little moment of simple romance.

Prepare to be a"MAZED"

I'm in love with my Boy Scout. 

Robb is loving Boy Scouts, I think mainly because he gets to be with boys for a solid hour and half then play basketball in the gym.  His troop makes all these great neckerchief holders.  I thought I would share this one with you.  He has finally finished all of his requirements to move to wolf and he is anxious to keep going.  I love that he is so excited about it.
